What We Did

See how we developed a multi-access automated gate system for a product transfer tram conveyor system.

The old system lacked protection from access through tram conveyor routes. The existing doors were interlocked into an old system. Upon entering the large guarded area, personnel could easily become isolated within a zone without anybody realising. We designed a trapped key release system which worked via creating zoned areas. If those area gates were to be opened a sequence of events would occur, whereby automated gates would block tram access into the area, and personnel access out of the area. Altogether, there were several large safety control panels fitted, as well as hundreds of metres of perimeter guarding, light curtains fitted to operator quick access areas, solenoid locking gates, and trapped key interlocking systems for access control.
