Swarf Conveyor Guarding
What We Did
Swarf Conveyors have long since been around. They have also proved difficult in any attempt at guarding them to prevent access to moving parts of machinery.
We have come up with a tried and tested solution which prevents access and reduces risk of entanglement or crushing as far as reasonably practicable. The guarding is fitted around the existing conveyor outfeed, matching up at a height just above the swarf bin. Each guard has an interlocked access point and a hold-to-run button is fitted should swarf become stuck and unable to be freed via the existing machine motion.
