Safety Switches and Devices

Pressure and Vacuum Safety Switches

Three versions of this unit are available: PS for pressure detection, VC for vacuum detection in fluid applications, and VS for vacuum detection in gas applications.

Each model provides normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO) contacts, which change state when the pressure or vacuum reaches the set threshold.

A pressure or vacuum safety switch is a protective device designed to integrate with a safety circuit through a safety relay. It features a connection port that supports pneumatic, hydraulic, fluid-vacuum, or gas-vacuum inputs. By continuously monitoring changes in pressure or vacuum levels, the switch helps ensure that equipment remains in a safe operating condition.

Commonly used as a monitored access point, the switch prevents entry to equipment until all pressure or vacuum levels have returned to a verified “safe” state.

This device can be used alongside safety-rated shut-off valves and/or interlocks to prevent the unintended startup of hazardous energy sources.
