Ronis Keys and Interlocks

Ronis interlocks and Ronis keys have three major applications: as isolation locks, as an exchange lock, as an access lock.

These safety access systems require individual designs for the application - at ISS Safety, we use our broad range of components to create a bespoke interlocking system for your equipment.

Isolation locks are primarily used for electrical panels and many of our isolation locks are electrically switched before access. When installed correctly, this prevents access to live high-voltage control systems. Exchange locks and boxes are used for high frequency access. An example of this may be several electrical control panels requiring the same key. Access locks are typically used for safe access to dangerous parts of machinery or control systems. After isolation or switching, these interlocks require actuation with the associated key before release.

Besides the durable build and significant opportunities for key combinations, Ronis are also ideal for installation with existing trapped key interlocking systems: When updating these systems, it is possible to integrate a Ronis system with Kaba, Herpe, Castell, HFS, or Fortress systems.

ELC Exhange Boxes

ELC Exchange Boxes are designed to release additional keys when an initial key or keys are inserted. This functionality is useful when access to more than one ELP door interlock is required or when a specific switchgear configuration must be followed.

Special ELC Exchange Box

Special exchange boxes are available on request to integrate a Ronis trapped key interlock system with Kaba, Herpe, Castell, HFS, or Fortress systems.

HPC Door Interlock

HPC locks are specifically designed for cabinets and boxes of nuclear new-generation EPR. This new RONIS range offers optimum safety and user comfort in these high-risk environments. The new patented ‘captive key’ can, in the open position: Maintain the trapped key Prevent the handle from being returned to its housing The key can then be removed once the door is closed and locked for optimum security. The spring mounting of the locks alklow them to automatically open when unlocked enabling ease of use. Our entire range is classed as IP65. Ronis locks have a higher resistance to water and dust penetration which gives them durability and reliability over the longer term.

ELP2 Door Interlocks

ELP2 Door Interlocks are dual key units suitable for use on all panel, cabinet, and transformer hinged doors. Inserting and rotating the Ronis keys allows the striker plate to be removed. While the striker plate is removed, the keys remain trapped in the unit. The keys can only be removed once the door is closed and the striker plate is back in position.

ELP1 Door Interlocks

ELP1 Door Interlocks are suitable for use on all panel, cabinet, and transformer hinged doors. Inserting and rotating the Ronis key allows the striker plate to be removed. While the striker plate is removed, the key remains trapped in the unit. The key can only be removed once the door is closed and the striker plate is back in position.

ELL Bolt Interlocks

EL Bolt Interlocks are designed to lock electrical switchgear isolators and earthing devices in the “OFF” position. The standard unit is supplied with a 10 mm diameter bolt, which measures 6 mm in length when the key is captive and 18 mm when the key is released. The bolt movement is directly controlled by the rotation of the key, ensuring precise and reliable operation.

EL Sol Switches

EL Solenoid Released Key Switches are designed for use on uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, releasing the key only when the UPS is in bypass. Under normal conditions, the key remains trapped in the unit. To release the key, an external signal must energise the solenoid. When the solenoid is energised, the illuminated push button lights up to confirm that the key can be removed. Turning and removing the key operates a set of contacts directly driven by the key, allowing controlled circuit operation.

EL Key Switches

EL Key Switches are cam locks fitted with electrical contacts. When the key is turned and removed, the contacts driven by the key change over, enabling controlled operation of the connected circuit.

EL Cam Locks

EL Cam Locks are designed to release their keys only when the electrical switchgear is in the desired position, either locked “ON” or locked “OFF.” While the key is released, the switchgear’s position cannot be altered.

EL Bolt Interlock

EL Bolt Interlocks are designed to lock electrical switchgear isolators and earthing devices in the “OFF” position. The standard unit is supplied with a 10 mm diameter bolt, which measures 6 mm in length when the key is captive and 18 mm when the key is released.
